Programme

Day 1
Arrive in Puerto Maldonado and embark on a scenic two-hour journey by bus and boat to Posada Amazonas Lodge, managed by the Ese Eja Native Community. Enjoy your first Amazonian meal as you travel upriver and settle into the heart of the rainforest. In the afternoon, take a guided walk to the 40-meter Canopy Tower for panoramic views of the jungle and its wildlife, including parrots, toucans, and macaws.

Day 2
Begin early with a visit to Tres Chimbadas Lake, gliding on a catamaran in search of giant river otters, caimans, and colorful birds. After breakfast, continue deeper into the jungle to Tambopata Research Center, surrounded by pristine forest. In the afternoon, hike through a bamboo forest to viewpoints overlooking the Tambopata River, watching for monkeys and other wildlife. End the day with an optional night walk to discover the rainforest’s nocturnal life.

Day 3
At dawn, witness the spectacular macaw clay lick, where dozens of macaws and parrots gather in a vibrant display of color and sound. Later, explore a trail through towering rainforest trees in search of monkeys and peccaries, then visit a nearby river island teeming with water birds and tropical species. In the evening, attend a lecture by Wired Amazon scientists to learn about conservation and ongoing research efforts.

Day 4
Spend the morning exploring a different ecosystem in the terra firme forest, crossing small streams and observing the biodiversity that thrives away from the main river. In the late afternoon, enjoy a tranquil sunset cruise along the Tambopata River, watching the sky turn into a canvas of orange and pink hues as you reflect on your Amazon adventure.

Day 5
After breakfast, return to Puerto Maldonado for your flight, carrying unforgettable memories of the rainforest and the satisfaction of having supported the conservation of Tambopata National Reserve and the work of Wired Amazon.
